Farmers bring in food. It gets packaged, blast frozen and held cold until the retailers' trucks pick it up. Running that much refrigeration costs a fortune, and Pennsylvania charges sales tax on almost everything.
That is exactly where Matt digs in: how tax gets applied to the power, the equipment and the process of freezing food, and whether the facility is paying on things it shouldn't be. It is the kind of line nobody inside the business has time to chase.

A property management group with a location in Kentucky had been on the wrong side of its utility's tariffs and riders. Matt negotiated directly with the utility and got the group a check back for $70,000.
